During Dream Week (TXT-related nonsense) I saw this image. Now, guys, you have to promise to be cool. This image is behind a paywall for official MOA fanclub members on Weverse. (Yes, I just outed myself as paying almost $20 annually for this nonsense but hell, we all need to have hobbies.) That means that you guys can’t rat me out to Hybe for leaking this. I even cropped the image, so please Hybe overlords, don’t be mad at me for using the only hi-def non-fantaken photo of this jacket that I have knowledge of.

Huening Kai of TXT

So I see this leather jacket. And then I see a patch on it. A patch that I don’t recognize. My metalhead born and raised ass was like “What the fuck is that??? What band is that??? Why don’t I recognize it???” It hurt my ego to see a band logo I don’t know, if I’m being honest. It’s not like I have encyclopedic knowledge of the genre, but I would hope I know more than a random TXT stylist. I saw this as a challenge. There was no way in hell I was just going to let Huening Kai be more brutal than me.

Completely triggered, I went on a rampage trying to decipher that black-metal-ass logo clownery that I hold so dear to my heart and figure out what it says. Hyuka is NOT going to have a cooler patch on his battle jacket than me, that’s fucking illegal. I was going to find out what band this was even if it killed me.

ANYWAY, through extensive research and thanks to the metal logo decrypting blood that flows through my veins, I got it. That is the logo of Maltese metal band, Beheaded. They’ve been active since ’98 and only have 5000 monthly listeners on Spotify. To be specific, the patch is for their album Only Death Can Save You, released in 2019.

How the hell would the TXT stylists know of this band or get this patch? Why would they choose this when the only other band patch they used in this performance was Deep Purple for Yeonjun’s jacket? Why is this uber-specific and niche choice being made?

Well, if this being a Maltese band rang a bell, you win a golden star. If you are an ARMY, or just know way too much about BTS for some reason, you might remember the only other time Malta and Big Hit crossed paths. On Season 2 of Bon Voyage, BTS went to Malta for a trip.

Because this seems like a deliberate choice (these jackets were custom), some would pick the “it’s the lore” route and argue this has something to do with the continuity between TXT’s music videos or whatever the hell else. Personally, though, my best theory is that somehow one of the Big Hit employees got this while in Malta for Bon Voyage. I also choose to believe this because I think that whatever Big Hit employee is collecting patches from metal sets in between filming Jimin riding his suitcase is a treasure. Big Hit employee responsible for this, I love and appreciate you.

Go ahead and check out the record if you want. If nothing else, you can brag to other MOA about being super hardcore and knowing perhaps even more than Huening Kai does about this.
